Living near the University of Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor is more than being close to the excitement of tailgate parties and football fanatics, its also a great area to raise a family, attend college, and invest in your future. The University of Michigan Student Theatre Arts Complex sits near the stadium, to the east, slightly north of Crisler Arena. The easiest access points by car are along Stadium Boulevard and South Main. Kipke Drive off  East Stadium Boulevard takes you past Campus Safety and Transportation Services to get you to the Student Theatre Arts Complex. Students can arrive at this complex by car, but will have the hassle of congested parking. Other options include walking  from bus stops at West Keech Ave or on East Stadium Boulevard across the street from the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club.  Students who wish to live near the Stadium or near the Student Theatre Arts Complex should look at homes available for sale or rent north of West Stadium Boulevard, and South of Pauline Boulevard. There are many great homes available in this area, including many that are an easy walk to the Student Theatre Arts Complex.

Along Snyder, Berkley, Potter and Keech Avenues, you will find affordable homes that retain a high resale value due to the constant interest of incoming University of Michigan students and faculty. The homes here can start at below $100,000 depending on the size. A nice four bedroom two bath home can be less than $300,000. For a new student planning to attend the University of Michigan for four or more years, the proximity of the home to campus will provide more than just money saving on transportation, the home will provide tax benefits, possibly rental income if you decide to share the space with a roommate, and resale value that gives you a nice chunk of money to help pay off some of those student loans.

University of Michigan faculty may also be interested in this area for the same reasons as the students, saving money on transportation, easy commute to work, and affordable mortgages. In additon to these benefits this area is very near one of Ann Arbor’s High Schools, the Pioneer High School. This area is family friendly and offers close proximity to the beautiful University of Michigan Golf Course and lovely Allmendinger Park. Allmendinger Park is an 8-acre park located on Pauline between Hutchins and Edgewood. The park contains softball fields, a restroom facility and water fountain, a play area nestled in an Oak and Hickory grove, picnic tables, a tennis court, grass volleyball court, and basketball court.  An accessible asphalt path connects the play area, picnic area and restroom facility.There are many easy to find bus stops all around this area making cheap and stress free transportation available for everyone. Stops can be found on Pauline Boulevard, Franklin Boulevard, and Seventh Street, as well as other area streets.

There are several churches in this area, some restaurants and a little  further east is the Dicken Elementary School and the Blackbird Theatre. All and all this is a beautiful area so close to campus that settling into this area can be perfect for the active student lifestyle, the family lifestyle, and the sports fan lifestyle. This area is truly a place you can call home. 

For those who are considering areas a little further outside the immediate University of Michigan Stadium surroundings, easy commuting can be achieved from coming in from the southeast near Ann Arbor’s  largest mall, Briarwood Mall. Many new homes and condos are being built in this area.Depending on the time of day this can be an easy ten minute commute, or as much as thirty minutes. The State Street area can get busy especially around Christmas when the Briarwood Mall sees many shoppers.
